Bab Zuweila is a massive two towered gate, it was built in the 11th century by armies leader Badr El Gamali, known as Bawabbat A Mitwali during the Ottoman period, it is the last remaining gate form Fatimid Cairo. It is considered one of the most amazing landmark in the city, It was set on the head of El Moez Li-Din Illah street from the western side.

The area around the gate is spectacular narrow streets including oriental shops, the building of Al-Gouri Mosque-Madrassa, and the Mosque of al-Fakahani, Bab Zuwayla resemble in its design the other gates, but perhaps has a richer tradition.
