The Mukhtar Museum was built to house the sculptures of Mahmud Mukhtar who is considered to be one of the greatest Egyptian sculptures. The Mahmoud Mukhtar Museum was inaugurated in 1962 in El Gezirah, Cairo, Egypt. The elegant building houses 85 bronze, stone and plaster sculptures.
Mahmoud Mukhtar (May 10, 1891 - March 28, 1934). From his famous statues, the statue of Nahdit Misr "Egypt's Renaissance" which is now stands opposite the Cairo University Bridge and the two monumental statues of Saad Zaghlul in Cairo & Alexandria.
