Origins and development of the monastery:
The archaeological st. Mina Monastery famous with alhabays "means Imprisoned" was present in the early twelfth century. there was cells for monks as mentioned at the biography of St. Mina monastery, Now there is no trace of this cells or any remnant of the old monastery.
Bishop Paula Bishop of Tanta interested in the renewal of the monastery and beautifying and reconstruction, he exploited space in the monastery and create a large garden. Set up productive projects for young people in the monastery, such as workshop for stained glass and mosaic. and has created a huge building for many services, the building contains meeting rooms equipped with the latest technology and rooms to stay in high level.
